Green Buildings and Eco-Homes
To achieve a modern, successful building which can deliver its main functions in a sustainable way as well as meet design and maintenance / life cycle parameters can be an increasingly complex process. Faber Maunsell’s thinking goes well beyond the normal scope of structural and design engineers. How will climate change affect the proposed structure? How will the structure affect its immediate environment and communities? How will rising energy prices impact the building’s running costs? What will the building’s carbon footprint be? How are physical, economic and social conditions likely to change over the building’s lifetime? Is the building environmentally sustainable?

Faber Maunsell provides teams to match the scale and scope of each individual structure. Whether it is a high rise making an international statement or a community housing programme looking to maximise harmony in its own surroundings we provide the expertise and skills required to make each project meet its sustainable objectives.
Materials, renewable energy, water conservation and livability are all key concerns for our engineers and designers. We use all areas of a building structure to maximise opportunities for progress from roofs to air circulation systems, from micro-generation to frugal energy usage.
