Faber Maunsell has been a leading practitioner of Sustainability from our inception and we are continually developing our own culture to provide best practice for our corporate activities and advice for our clients. From developing the BREEAM 'green building' assessment methodology with BRE we have always been at the fore-front  of sustainable ideas and practical responses to a wide range of issues ranging from carbon management and building design to transport strategy , corporate responsibility energy management and the sustainable use of natural resources.

Our people can be found in many places, advising governments and business on how to develop and adapt practices to help in minimising environmental impacts whilst enhancing economic development and long term balance for the human community and natural resource systems. Our aim is not only to mitigate but also to enhance long term payback of systems and projects to ensure sustainability is a practical and achievable result- not just a label of convenience.

For the Built Environment we provide strategic development advice covering all elements of a development of any scale from individual buildings and retail developments to eco-towns and new cities.  Our advanced Design Group creates buildings which are designed to maximise performance for ‘green’ parameters and energy minimisation without compromising form or function.

We advise on the protection and infrastructure necessary for the maintenance of natural resource use for our societies. Ensuring the availability of clean water for future generations is a strategic priority as well as renewable energy and energy management /conservation measures.

We have teams of assessors who can help organisations to ensure their actions meet stakeholder requirements. We undertake all the internationally recognised sustainability standards from BREEAM to LEED and CEEQUAL to strategic sustainability assessments for corporate strategy and regional development.

And we provide leading advice on  measures to make transportation more sustainable, advising on management practices, green planning and the application of technology to minimise journey footprints and design transportation infrastructure beyond the  ‘predict and provide’ approach.
