Project detail
Faber Maunsell is working with the Isle of Man Authorities and the Island's Ronaldsway Airport to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment for a new Runway End Safety Area (RESA) extension. The RESA itself involves the construction of a promontory which would extend from the coastal edge into the sub-tidal zone. This meant that all potential impacts on the sensitive inter-tidal and sub-tidal zone and the wider marine environment were assessed, both during and after construction. The implications for all aspects of the human, aquatic and terrestrial environment are included in the scope of work including ecology, landscape and visual amenity, recreation, archaeological heritage, noise and air quality. Communication and liaison with the local communities and environmental groups has also been a key part of the project.
